This anime is more focused on physical intimacy rather than the same kind of love story we see in the anime these days. That’s what separates it from other high school romance anime. It will show you the difference between love for something you want and love for something you cannot achieve. If you are looking for some sad romance anime, then this one should be on your watchlist.
9. Tsurendure Children
Unlike other high school romance anime where the story is focused on the Couple and their love story and their life struggles, this anime focuses on the love of high school children and how it gets mature as they grow up. The cast of the anime is vast. There are so many characters in the anime. Each with a different personality. I am sure in this anime, you will definitely find someone you can relate to.
8. Bloom into you
This story is not your typical love story between a boy and a girl. It is a love story between two girls. And if you are not okay with that, please move to the number 7. But if you are still reading, then let me tell you about it. Bloom into you is a story of a girl searching for love until she finds the school’s student council president. It is a love story about self-realization and the emotions you feel when you dive deep into it. Something that you cannot express in words.
7. Blue Spring Pride
A girl likes a boy, but the boy leaves the town. So, the girl is now sad and starts acting tough, and she meets the boy again, BUT he is changed a lot now. It is about two characters adapting to their new personalities. This anime may not excite you as much as the others, but it does have good emotional movements. So, make sure to check it out.
6. Anonymous Noise
It is a story about three friends who were separated and now coming together. But they aren’t the same as they were before. People say that the love story in this anime is overly dramatic, but everyone has their taste, so I would say you do not judge this anime from someone else’s review.
5. Our love has always been 10cm apart
This high school romance anime is the love story between an Extrovert boy and an introvert girl. Ever heard that “opposites attract each other”? It’s just like that. They are good friends in the beginning, but they have feelings for each other. As there is only one year left in high school, they must confess their love for each other. But tension appears in a relationship as one side being too forward and the other being very shy. Overall it’s a good anime. I personally really liked it.
4. Bokura ga ita
This anime is about the struggles you go through while in a relationship. Why can it be so hard to open up to each other? Why do we face issues in a relationship? This anime focuses on these questions. It is a love story you will definitely remember. So, if you haven’t watched it yet, make sure to check it out.
3. KimKiss: Pure rouge
We don’t have one boy and one girl as the main characters this time. This time three girls are the main characters in the anime, who help each other find their true love. This trio is childhood friends. One of them was abroad and came back after a long time. As they attend high school together, they help each other out with their love life.
2. Horimiya
If you are watching anime for a while, you must have watched or heard about this anime. It not like other romance anime where the Couple confesses their feeling for each other. In the end, it’s a happy or sad story. In Horimiya, the Couple confesses their feeling in the 5th episode. The story after that is about what issues you face after you come into a relationship. The story is not only focused on the main characters, but it also shows the life of the side characters and their love struggles. Which I really liked about this anime.

Your lie in April is one of the best high school romance anime ever created, but it’s unfortunate at the same time. In the story, music connects the main characters, and slowly they start getting closer. At least that’s what it looks like in the anime. I don’t want to spoil it for you, so just watch the anime you will know.
